  • As artists ourselves, we believe it’s important not only to share our own creations, but also to create space for others to make an impact. We proudly feature work from many local artists, along with a rotating exhibition wall open to anyone who wishes to apply. To us, craft holds the same value and intention as witchcraft—both are forms of creation, expression, and connection.

  • We do our absolute best to ensure our products come from sources you can trust. We harvest many of our own herbs and bamboo, and when we don’t, we carefully source from trusted vendors. Our goal is to create a space where everyone feels comfortable and confident choosing items for their practice, knowing they’ve been responsibly and ethically sourced.

  • Here at Strange Scene, we celebrate everyone’s strangeness. We believe it’s what makes each of us unique, and we’re committed to creating a space where everyone feels welcome, included, and free to be exactly who they are.

  • This building, that we have chosen to rent, exists on the ancestral homelands of the Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Potawatomi, Miami, Kickapoo, Peoria, and Sioux nations. These lands have been stewarded for generations by Indigenous peoples, and continue to be home to vibrant Native communities.

    With profound respect, Strange Scene acknowledges this history, and honors the resilience of these nations—especially in the face of violent attempts to erase Indigenous peoples and erase their right to practice the spiritual and divination traditions that are inseparably tied to this land.

    To practice art, ritual, and divination here is only possible because of the survival, strength, and ongoing cultural presence of Indigenous peoples, whose voices and traditions must continue to be uplifted.
